Who We Are
The Maddox Companies offer full-service real estate development, management and brokerage services including industrial, office, commercial and retail brokerage, residential and commercial development, property management and investment sales. Maddox offers experience in all facets of construction, from land development, custom residential and industrial construction to building repair and restoration.
Steve Maddox
President
Founder Steve Maddox began his real estate career in 1979, quickly and professionally closing numerous multi-million dollar transactions. His successful portfolio includes sales of multifamily developments, commercial offices, hotels, shopping centers, franchised enterprises, and vast industrial complexes.
By 1985, Steve expanded his operations to include management of both multifamily and commercial property, with property management renovations and turnarounds at a 100% success rate. Steve is also a founding member of the National Association of REALTORS® Property Management Section.
Steve’s company has been responsible for a large number of diverse multi-million dollar development projects, in Tennessee as well as several other states throughout the Southeast.
As a licensed General Contractor, Steve is able to oversee company projects from earliest development to construction completion. He specializes in community and government relations to get projects off the drawing board to the final product.
A Knoxville TN native, Steve his lovely wife Kristi have been happily married since 1995, and are the proud parents of two sons they love dearly, Joshua and Dalton.
Dalton Maddox
Vice President
Dalton serves as a realtor at Maddox Companies working in both commercial and residential real estate. His previous experience working within corporate sales and project management in companies such as Pilot Flying J, along with his own startups, has allowed Dalton to become a valuable asset within the team.
He has earned a Doctorate in Jurisprudence through the University of Tennessee as well double majoring in Supply Chain Management as well as Entrepreneurship.
Dalton was born and raised in Knoxville and has a deep love for the surrounding area. He is an avid outdoorsman who loves hiking, fishing, kayaking, and generally exploring the great outdoors.
Barbara Clift
Bookkeeping
With over 25 years of experience, Barbara Clift has seen and experienced it all and currently serves as bookkeeper for the Maddox Companies.
Barbara began her professional career in the travel industry after earning a Bachelor’s degree in marketing. She entered real estate in 1996 and currently holds a Tennessee Affiliate Broker’s license.
Her combination of skills and experiences have made her services and insights invaluable to the daily operations of the company. Barbara truly loves people and always gives clients the highest level of care and attention.
Originally from Florida, her family moved to Knoxville when she was a baby. Barbara is happily married and the proud mom of two grown sons.
Samantha Evans
Office Manager
Samantha Evans is the newest addition to the Maddox Companies team, successfully fulfilling the often-demanding, multi-hat-wearing role of office manager. She spent eight years in the Property Management field, specifically focusing on the property management of indoor malls.
Samantha recently obtained her real estate license and is excited about what her future holds and the path she’s following with Maddox Companies. She truly appreciates how much she’s learning and the opportunities available to her within the company.
In August, 2020, she fulfilled a years’ long goal by moving to Knoxville from Nipomo, California, a small town in an area known as the Central Coast. Samantha loves East Tennessee and moved here to be closer to her family, which is very important to her.
