Steve Maddox

President

Founder Steve Maddox began his real estate career in 1979, quickly and professionally closing numerous multi-million dollar transactions. His successful portfolio includes sales of multifamily developments, commercial offices, hotels, shopping centers, franchised enterprises, and vast industrial complexes.

By 1985, Steve expanded his operations to include management of both multifamily and commercial property, with property management renovations and turnarounds at a 100% success rate. Steve is also a founding member of the National Association of REALTORS® Property Management Section.

Steve’s company has been responsible for a large number of diverse multi-million dollar development projects, in Tennessee as well as several other states throughout the Southeast.

As a licensed General Contractor, Steve is able to oversee company projects from earliest development to construction completion. He specializes in community and government relations to get projects off the drawing board to the final product.

A Knoxville TN native, Steve his lovely wife Kristi have been happily married since 1995, and are the proud parents of two sons they love dearly, Joshua and Dalton.

Dalton Maddox

Vice President

Dalton serves as a realtor at Maddox Companies working in both commercial and residential real estate. His previous experience working within corporate sales and project management in companies such as Pilot Flying J, along with his own startups, has allowed Dalton to have a wide range of contacts and understanding to put to use for his clients. Dalton has developed a reputation for his straight-forward approach and tells his clients the reality of the situation, even if that is not what they want to hear.  He believes in always trying to learn more about the market in both the short and long-term to better understand how the real estate market is changing, and more importantly, why it is changing.

He has earned a Doctorate in Jurisprudence through the University of Tennessee as well double majoring in Supply Chain Management and Entrepreneurship.

Dalton was born and raised in Knoxville and has a deep love for the surrounding area. He is an avid outdoorsman who loves hiking, fishing, kayaking, and generally exploring the great outdoors.

Barbara Clift

Bookkeeping

Barbara’s biography highlights her deep roots in Knoxville and her extensive experience in both the travel and real estate industries. She graduated from Farragut High School and later pursued a degree in marketing. After starting her career in travel, she transitioned to real estate in 1996, driven by her passion for helping clients find their ideal homes.

Barbara’s professional journey has been marked by significant achievements, including being the top residential agent at Maddox Companies with impressive sales figures. Her expertise spans various aspects of real estate, from assisting first-time homebuyers to catering to investors and luxury market clients.

With over 25 years of experience, Barbara brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of Knoxville’s real estate landscape. Her commitment to her clients is evident, fueled by her genuine enjoyment of connecting with people and helping them navigate the complexities of buying and selling homes.

Barbara, who has two grown sons, currently resides in North Knoxville with her husband, David. Barbara’s personal and professional life are deeply intertwined with her love for Knoxville, which she proudly calls home.

Samantha Evans

Samantha Evans is a dedicated Property Management Specialist with over 12 years of experience in the field. As a licensed real estate agent, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. Originally from the West Coast, she has been visiting this area every summer, cultivating a deep love for the community. Samantha made the move in 2020 to be closer to family and has since developed a deep appreciation for the community. Passionate about creating opportunities for growth and excellence within the company, she is committed to delivering exceptional service to clients and residents alike. Whether managing properties or connecting with people, Samantha thrives on making a positive impact in the real estate industry.

David Kohn

Construction Manager

Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, David has demonstrated a natural talent for problem-solving since a young age—a skill that has become the cornerstone of his successful career.

A devoted family man, David is blessed with a wonderful wife and three daughters who mean the world to him. Outside of work, he enjoys saltwater fishing and cheering on LSU football.

As a general contractor, David has built a strong reputation for his ability to solve complex challenges. This skill enables him to tackle even the most demanding projects with confidence and creativity. Whether overcoming obstacles during construction or devising innovative solutions, he ensures every project meets the highest standards.

Clark Gross

A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, Clark has proudly called the city home for his entire life. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Clark spent 27 years in the pharmaceutical sales and marketing industry before transitioning to the real estate industry. Known for being a strong relationship builder and a strategic thinker, Clark brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as a realtor here within Maddox Companies.
